Distortion is an online lifestyle magazine, amplifying London’s hidden creative talent. We are here to show you the brutally honest good, bad and ugly of our way of living, while also giving you a stage to present yourself to a wider audience. So what do we offer? Creative freedom, the chance to build your portfolio of published work, opportunities and connections and a community of creatives just like you.
There are a couple of ways you can get a shout out on Distortion. You can either hashtag your work with #isolateandcreate and #wearedistortion on social media, or send an email with a link to your published work or Dropbox/Google Drive to email@example.com. We obviously want to give you as much credit as we can, so please include a short bio and a picture of yourself where possible.
create new work
If you’re up for it, we would love to publish some work you have created in isolation. Next to giving you full creative freedom, we also try to set weekly creative themes and challenges that are applicable to all covered disciplines and can be done from the comfort of your own home.
A big part of Distortion is to create a strong local community of creatives and businesses. Did you mention restaurant X in Clapton is one of your favourite places? Write about it! Do you have some nostalgia inducing pictures of that nice pub in Hoxton? Share them! Let’s tell the world all about our amazing neighbours, so we all can’t want to support them again when their doors reopen.
[insert your idea]
Distortion is a DIY platform and we’re just rolling with the punches. F*** the rules, we’re in it together. So if you have some ideas of your own and feel like Distortion could be the place to bring them to life? Please don’t hesitate to contact us on firstname.lastname@example.org and let’s work together!
